Tucson Gem Show 2022: Day One
January 26, 2022
Today, was, something I’m still trying to wrap my head around. Somehow both one of the most epic and one of the most mellow Tucson first days ever.
I had a dream last night where turtle visited. A reminder to slow down when I think I need to speed up. It’s so easy to get caught up in the franticness of other peoples energy at the show and today was incredible, in that I was magically nearly alone or felt very quiet and focused at each of the four main vendors I visited. I was generally able to hold the intention and energy I set for myself for the show which is to be incredibly discerning and not to rush. And! On top of that! I selected some absolutely mind blowing stones from some of my absolute favorite crystal vendors in the world!
I started with Madagascar minerals and ended up focusing on lots of beautiful spheres in different material along with some some polychrome as requested and a few other random fun finds. The black moonstone was a highlight!
And then on to my Indian vendors who have the most unique and phenomenal mixture of high quality palmstones in so many incredible materials! I had an incredibly long mental list for this vendor and spent hours selecting each stone individually. Sodalite, howlite, moonstone and bloodstone minis, plus a few new finds like aquamarine palms and new to me shiny diopside minis. Oh and a ridiculous amount of nirvana quartz. And just a few museum quality Himalayan quartz specimens.
Then on to Sergio for some stunning inclusion quartz and these incredible smoky elestial spaceships and finishing up with a visit to my wonderful Peruvian vendor who has the best quality natural geometric pyrite I’ve ever seen. I got a bunch of spheres too. Am definitely sensing a sphere sale sometime this spring what do you think
And I have enough energy left to sit and write this post because my dearest hubby is here helping me shlep stones and deal with packing logistics. Yay for accepting help when it is offered, I am super good at that jk but I’m learning
